WORK AND TRAVEL
America J1 programs are cultural exchange programs that encourage intercultural interaction. The aim of the J1 exchange program is to provide professional development and cultural interaction.
Work and Travel is a cultural exchange program that provides an average of 100,000 students from all over the world the opportunity to live and work in America during their summer holidays every year. Thanks to this cultural exchange program, students; They have the opportunity to get to know American culture closely, earn their own money, practice their language, live and travel in a foreign country.
The Work and Travel program, which has been ongoing since 1961, enables participating students to get to know American culture closely and fill the seasonal worker gap in sub-sectors in America.
In Work and Travel, students have a maximum of 4-month work permit between 15 May and 1 October. In addition, there is the right to travel within the United States for 30 days.
WHO CAN JOIN WORK AND TRAVEL?
The American Department of State and the US Consulate explained the Work and Travel participation and application conditions as follows.

Being a preparatory, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student at a 4-year university that provides formal education,

Having a general grade point average of 2.00 or above,

Being able to speak English at least at an intermediate level,

Master's and PhD students must have a good GPA and English proficiency,

Being between the ages of 18-26,
