WORK AND TRAVEL
America J1 programs are cultural exchange programs that encourage intercultural interaction. The purpose of the J1 exchange program is to provide professional development and cultural interaction.
Work and Travel is a cultural exchange program that provides an average of 100,000 students from all over the world the opportunity to live and work in the United States during their summer holidays. Thanks to this cultural exchange program, students; They will have the opportunity to get to know the American culture closely, earn their own money, practice the language, live and travel in a foreign country.
The Work and Travel program, which has been going on since 1961, enables participating students to get to know American culture closely and to close the seasonal worker deficit in sub-sectors in the United States.
In Work and Travel, students have a maximum of 4 months of work permit between 15 May - 1 October. In addition, he has the right to travel within the borders of the United States for 30 days.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE WORK AND TRAVEL?
The US Department of State and the US Consulate explained the Work and Travel participation and application conditions as follows.
Being a preparatory, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student at a 4-year university providing formal education,
Having a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 and above,
Able to speak at least intermediate level of English
Master's - PhD students have a good grade point average and English,
be between the ages of 18-26,
